FACT CHECK: Dele Momodu shares fake election results from Datti’s polling unit

Dele Momodu, a spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, shared election results from Datti Ahmed’s polling unit (PU).

Datti Ahmed is a former senator and running mate to Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

According to the result posted by Momodu, Labour Party bagged only five votes in Datti’s polling unit, while the PDP won the PU with 137 votes.

Verification

CDD Fact-checkers confirmed from field observers that the result posted by CDD Jackson Ude and Momodu is fake.

The result from polling unit 021 situated at Tudun Wada ward, in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State had 272 accredited voters with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winning the polling unit with 102 votes.

All Progressives Congress (APC) had 98 votes, while Labour Party (LP) had 54 votes. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, polled 11 votes.

Verdict

The vote count posted by Dele Momodu is false; while Datti lost his polling unit to the Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, the numbers posted by Momodu are inaccurate.
