FACT CHECK: Did APC candidate, Ukwachukwu donate ₦3 million to flood victims in Anambra State?

A claim received via the Check by Meedan tool states that the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, donated 3 million Naira to flood victims in the State.

CDD War Room found credible media reports stating that Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu announced a ₦3 million donation to flood victims while suspending his campaign activities to visit affected communities in Ogbaru, Ihiala, and parts of Ayamelum Local Government Areas, which had experienced severe flooding due to rising water levels from the River Niger.

According to Reports published by Vanguard Newspaper and The Gazelle News, Ukachukwu visited flood-hit areas and distributed relief materials, including food and basic supplies, while pledging ₦3 million to support victims. However, CDD War Room could not ascertain if the money was actually disbursed to the victims.

Verdict: All We Know

Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu announced a ₦3 million donation and visited flood-affected communities in Anambra State. However, there is no independent proof to ascertain the disbursement of promised funds.
