On September 21, 2024, a picture went viral across social media showing cases of over-voting, a form of electoral malpractice.
The picture shows the statement of result from Osholo Primary school, Etsako East LGA, Edo State. According to the circulated election result, the total number of accredited voters is 213 while the total valid votes is 406. This shows that the total number of votes has exceeded the total number of accredited voters with a margin of 193 votes.
Verification: The CDD War Room found an exact copy of the circulated result sheet on the IREV portal. The result sheet belongs to Osholo Primary School, Weppa 04, Etsako East LGA, Edo State. We found that the result sheet was duly signed by an INEC official.
