Over the weekend, CDD’s Soldiers of Mouth (SOM) identified a trending claim on social media suggesting that the Anambra State Government had unveiled free Wi-Fi sites across the state.

CDD’s Election War Room reviewed multiple credible news reports and official statements to verify the claim. Findings confirm that the Anambra State Information and Communication Technology Agency (ANSICTA) has indeed rolled out 25 active free Wi-Fi sites across various locations in the state.

According to the Agency, the initiative is part of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s digital transformation agenda, aimed at improving access to the internet, promoting innovation, and driving economic growth through technology. The Wi-Fi installations are said to cover key public areas such as markets, transport hubs, and educational institutions, allowing residents to connect to the internet free of charge.
