FACT CHECK: Did NYSC members reject APC’s Nicholas Ukachukwu’s N10 million rigging offer ahead of 2025 Anambra guber poll?

A Facebook post published on November 6, 2025, by a user account named “Amb Adichie Izuchukwu” claims that Nicholas Ukachukwu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming Anambra state gubernatorial election, was “in shock” after members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) rejected his N10 million naira rigging offer.

The post states: “Breaking News: Nicholas Ukachukwu In Shock As NYSC Members Reject His 10 Million Naira Rigging Offer. Nicholas Ukachukwu should be told that he can’t rig this election. He has been rejected by the gods of the land and his hometown Osumenyi. Even NYSC members he called today for rigging meeting REJECTED him. Trouble started when they started shouting; ‘Your People Don’t Want You, They Want Soludo’s Re-Election’. Nicholas Ukachukwu quickly took the 10 Million naira he wanted to share NYSC members.”

The post, made less than two days before the November 8, 2025 Anambra governorship election, includes an image with “BREAKING NEWS” graphics purportedly showing Ukachukwu.

CLAIM: NYSC members rejected APC’s Nicholas Ukachukwu’s N10 million rigging offer ahead of the 2025 Anambra gubernatorial poll.

VERIFICATION

Checks by the CDD War Room revealed no credible evidence supporting the claim. Analysis of the source reveals significant credibility concerns. The Facebook account “Amb Adichie Izuchukwu” appears to be partisan, actively canvassing for the re-election of Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The account profile identifies the user as “Husband | Father I Public Servant I SSA New Media to @ccsoludo | Voices of Ndi Anambra Podcast,” indicating an official role in Governor Soludo’s media team.

A review of the account’s posting history shows a clear pattern of sharing unverified claims against the opposition APC and its gubernatorial candidate for the 2025 Anambra election.

Notable examples include a post made on October 3, 2025, where the user claimed that the APC gubernatorial candidate and his running mate were plotting to rig the election by booking hotels in Awka for thugs.

Also on October 12, 2025, the user posted: “Ukachukwu, Ekwunife, and Anambra APC Campaign Council in disarray—caught fighting over Election Day vote-buying formula.

In another post on October 21, 2025, the user claimed: “Nicholas Ukachukwu and his thugs plan to set fire on APGA regional secretariat, Awka, and Anambra Broadcasting Service.”

This was found to have been shared in a Facebook group named “APGA Interactive Forum” with 5,700 members.

None of these claims was accompanied by verifiable evidence, and no credible reports on these alleged incidents.

The consistent pattern of unsubstantiated claims against the same political opponent appears designed to damage the opposition candidate’s reputation. Such tactics are commonly employed in disinformation campaigns during election periods to manipulate voter perceptions.

VERDICT: FALSE

The claim that NYSC members rejected Nicholas Ukachukwu’s N10 million rigging offer is false. No credible evidence exists to support this allegation. The claim originates from a partisan source with a documented history of sharing unverified accusations against the APC gubernatorial candidate.
