A result sheet circulating online has been shared with the claim that it shows the All Progressives Congress (APC) losing to the Accord Party at the polling unit of former Osun State governor, Gboyega Oyetola, who currently serves as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.
The claim comes amid the collation of election results across local government areas following the conclusion of voting in the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.
A verified X user, Banks Omisore, posted an image of Form EC 8A with the caption: “Oyetola lost his polling unit to Accord. Did @ogbenidipo @realadeshina win their polling units? I need to see which of them will take over once we retire Oyetola.”
The post, published at 9:06 p.m. on election day, had garnered more than 12,000 views when it was retrieved.

Another blogger, Native Reporters, shared the same claim on Facebook. The post had received more than 300 likes and 35 shares at the time it was retrieved.

CLAIM: Form EC 8A shows the APC losing to the Accord Party at former governor Gboyega Oyetola’s polling unit.
VERIFICATION
The image circulating online is a Form EC 8A from the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The details on the form show that it is for Polling Unit 13, Open Space Opposite Adedimeji Mosque, Registration Area (RA) 01, Oloti Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area.
According to the figures on the result sheet, the Accord Party scored 120 votes, while the APC scored 81 votes.
However, the key question is whether Polling Unit 13 is actually the polling unit where former governor Oyetola cast his vote.
Multiple media reports published during the election, as seen here and here, reported that Oyetola voted at Polling Unit 10, Ward 1, in Iragbiji, Boripe LGA.
Further checks of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Election Results Viewing (IReV) portal show that the result for Oyetola’s polling unit, PU 10, Open Space Esekelado 1, Oloti Iragbiji, Boripe LGA, differs from the result in the viral image.
The IReV record shows that the Accord Party scored zero votes at the polling unit, while the APC won with 242 votes out of 253 valid votes cast.

VERDICT: FALSE
The claim that the APC lost to the Accord Party at Oyetola’s polling unit is false. The Form EC 8A circulating online does show Accord defeating the APC at PU 13 in Olori Iragbiji, Boripe LGA. However, the polling unit is not Oyetola’s PU. INEC’s IReV record shows that at the PU where Oyetola voted, the APC won with 242 votes, while Accord recorded zero votes.
