Verification:
A Google Reverse Image Search showed that the image first appeared online on 9 June 2026 on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram.
The CDD Election War Room found that the image was taken from a video posted on Instagram by Lindaikejiblogofficial with the caption “ 2027 election is settled- Oyo residents express support for APC candidate who gave them 1kg sachets of semovita”

On X (formerly Twitter), the image was posted by an X user, with the caption “See my people bro, N2k Semovita. This post on X has garnered more than 684,000 engagements.
On Facebook, the image was attached to a post, uploaded by Gistlover with the caption “2027 Election Is Settled – Oyo Residents Celebrate After Receiving 1kg Semovita at APC Outreach, Nigerians React
A video showing Oyo residents receiving 1kg sachets of Semovita during an APC outreach event has gone viral after some beneficiaries reportedly declared that the “2027 election is settled”.
The footage has generated mixed reactions, with critics questioning voter priorities and others urging Nigerians to obtain their PVCs and make decisions based on governance and performance.”
Verdict: FALSE
The claim that the image was taken from Ekiti State, ahead of its governorship election, is false.
The CDD Election War Room found that the image was extracted from a video that first appeared online on 9 June 2026 in Oyo State, Nigeria.
We found that the video, from which the image was extracted, shows APC supporters displaying Semovita and the party placard during a solidarity meeting for one of the APC gubernatorial aspirants in Oyo State.
