Claims making the rounds on social media allege that former president Olusegun Obasanjo “stormed” the Independent Nation Electoral Commission (INEC) Collation Centre with original result sheets.
A Twitter user @solakafinta tweeted; “Breaking News: Obasanjo storms INEC collection center in Abuja with the real results of all the 36 state and FTC INEC chairman was in shock when Obasanjo showed up in Abuja INEC collect with 2023 original result sheet for all States…”
In less than two hours after tweeting the claim, it has garnered over 200,000 views.

Verification:
On January 15, 2020, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state visited Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria at his Abeokuta residence.
The visit which resorted into a two-hour-long closed-door meeting was in respect of Operation Amotekun, a community security network for the southwest region of Nigeria.
While Seyi Makinde was leaving Obasanjo’s residence, they took the picture, which is being peddled online.
The second picture attached to the tweet is the picture of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman during one of the press briefings pre-2019 election.
Finally, the INEC collation center at the Abuja International Conference Center is being streamed live on national TVs and there is no presence of Former president Obasanjo.
Verdict:
The claim that Obasanjo is at the INEC collection center in Abuja is false.
