Social media reports alleged that Uche Nworah, Special Adviser (General Duties) to the DG of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), asked the APC deputy governorship candidate in Anambra, Senator Uche Ekwunife, to pay back money she owed him.
This incident, which was purported to have taken place in Owerri, Imo state, was also reported by our Soldier of Mouth via our Meedan platform.

Claim: Uche Nworah asked Uche Ekwunife to give him his money?
The claim was traced by CDD War Room to Amb. Adichie Izuchukwu, Senior Special Adviser on New Media to Governor Charles Soludo. A video that circulated online and was also posted on his page appeared to support the allegation.
However, CDD War Room, upon closer analysis, observed that most of the clip was narration layered over a short dialogue between Nworah and Ekwunife. The narration being promoted by the posted video claimed that the APC media aide was on strike because of lack of funds and further suggested that Nworah was begging Ekwunife to pay him. However, when CDD War Room listened to the non-narrated section, Nworah could be heard speaking in Igbo, saying he was “looking for money” and asking for help. The clip replayed this section multiple times, suggesting deliberate editing to misrepresent the context.
CDD War Room also found a response from Nworah debunking the claim. In a Facebook post, Nworah stated that the conversation was twisted as he was explaining to Senator Ewunife that he had been ‘hustling’ for money.
Excerpts from his post read, “You have clearly twisted a conversation I had with Iyom during the President’s one-day working visit to Owerri. I was on the President’s advance team to Owerri and ran into Iyom at the event. She teased me that I have been missing from APC’s gubernatorial campaign activities in Anambra. Good-naturedly, I told her to forgive me because I have been in overdrive ‘hustling’ for money in Abuja as I recently set up an office and plan to open it on the 14th of October 2025.”
Verdict: The claim that Uche Nworah asked Senator Uche Ekwunife to repay a debt is false. The video circulating online was misleadingly edited, and Nworah himself has publicly debunked the allegation.
