Claim: Video shows collapse of Ore bridge in Ondo State due to flooding

Verification:

The CDD War Room traced the circulating video to heavy flooding on the Lagos-Ore road, particularly the Ore bridge along Ondo south. We found that the first time the video attached to the claim surfaced online was in August 2023.

A deeper search showed that the video was taken from the flooding scene at the Ore bridge on August 2, 2023 and was uploaded on Youtube on the same day.

The Ore bridge was completed in February 2020 by the former governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and was commissioned by the former president, Muhammadu Buhari.

Verdict: MISLEADING

The CDD War Room found that the video was from the flooding scene on Lagos- Ore bridge in Ondo State. However, the video was from August 2023 and not 2024 as being circulated.
